The Society of American Military Engineers and the American LED Alliance Align to Advance Energy Intelligence

June 29, 2019 – The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and the American LED Alliance announce today the formation of a strategic alliance to enhance energy intelligence for the U.S. Government.

Lighting typically accounts for 20% or more of commercial building electricity consumption. Light emitting diode (LED) technology cuts electricity cost by 50% or more on lighting, and U.S. manufactured LEDs create job opportunities for U.S. veterans as well as U.S. citizens.

The alliance includes a range of added benefits for SAME members in addition to 6 months free trial membership as an associate member of the American LED Alliance.

The Chairman of the 2019 Leadership Council of the American LED Alliance, Charlie Szoradi, said, “As a SAME member and in my role with ALA, I see this strategic alliance as an excellent springboard for energy intelligence across over 3 billion square feet of U.S. government property.”

“This is a great strategic alliance. With the sustained demand for energy efficiency and the vast square footage of Federally owned infrastructure  worldwide, we see energy-efficient lighting as a significant driver in cost and energy reduction,” said, Col. John Medeiros, Ph.D., USAF (Ret.), SAME Chief Operating Officer.

The alignment between the organizations includes the following from the strategic partnership agreement:

American LED Alliance will provide:

  • Associate Membership in ALA to SAME members on a complimentary basis for 6-months or a two-year membership for the price of one year.
  • Promotion of SAME to ALA members
  • Inclusion of SAME logo, description, and link on ALA’s website
  • Allocation of 25% of ALA membership revenue deriving from SAME members toward

advertising and promotional opportunities in SAME

SAME will provide:

  • Discount on advertisements in SAME publications to ALA members
  • Announcement in eNewsletter about benefits available to SAME members in ALA
  • Inclusion of SAME logo, description, and link on ALA’s website
